Valencia CF to play Bayer 04 Leverkusen on August 4th

The Valencia CF summer schedule has been added to with the confirmation of a fifth preseason friendly fixture, against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on August 4th. The game will take place at the German side’s BayArena stadium at 2pm local time.
The Bundesliga team will be a tough test for Marcelino’s men ahead of the start of the 2019/20 season. Like Valencia CF, Bayer 04 Leverkusen will participate in the UEFA Champions League, having finished fourth in their domestic league.
This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams, who contested the 47th edition of the Trofeo Naranja last year. On that occasion, VCF were the victors of the trophy game, winning 3-0 through goals from Santi Mina, Rodrigo and Kang In.
Previously, their paths crossed in the Group Stage of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League. Valencia CF won 3-1 at Mestalla, losing 2-1 in Leverkusen.
